Science

At Stowlawn Primary School, our Science curriculum strives to develop the scientist within all children. Our curriculum is designed to develop resilient, ambitious, creative and independent learners who make progress across the curriculum and achieve the highest standards possible in a safe, secure environment.

Our intent is to give every child an accessible Science curriculum which enables them to explore and discover the world around them confidently, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world we live in. To achieve this, our curriculum involves exciting, practical hands on experiences underpinned by the knowledge taught. Our aim is that these stimulating and challenging experiences help children secure and extend their scientific knowledge and vocabulary.

Our curriculum encourages curiosity and questioning and is enriched with activities and events based upon the children’s interests and events as they arise. We believe that these opportunities will ensure that our children are confident, life-long learners who will explore the world around them with curiosity and compassion.
